Port of Tyne is one of the leading deep-sea ports in the UK, and a vital trading gateway connecting the North East to the worldwide markets. Yearly, the Port exhibits at Multimodal, the UK’s largest logistics exhibition in Birmingham that offers a great opportunity to catch up with old and new clients and leave a good impression.

Port of Tyne invited Guerilla to create a new exhibition stand to raise awareness of the Port and inform potential customers about what services the Port is offering. The stand had to be designed to engage, inspire and interact with existing and prospective customers, as well as conveying the brand and message of the Port. The stand was a considerable investment and it was essential that it created a welcoming, sociable and relaxing atmosphere to ensure that visitors are comfortable to discuss their business requirements.

We initially began looking at how the exhibition stand could begin to reflect some of the Ports recognisable features. The Port has a distinctive blue gantry crane that sits high in the sky with ‘PORT OF TYNE’ written on its side – this crane became the main arch that overhangs the exhibition. The main focal point of the exhibition stand was stacked steel containers. The containers echoed the look and feel of real containers to add to the stand experience. On three of the corners we designed large backlit graphic boxes that, together with the backlit arch, created a high impact and vibrant result. For future use, these graphic boxes can also easily be redesigned to give the stand a fresh and updated look.

“We were over the moon with the stand Guerilla designed from us, from conception to execution. It really captured the essence of our modern forward think port, and we got some impressive compliments from visitors to our stand during the Multimodal event!”

The configuration provides two meeting areas and a refreshment area, including a fridge to be integrated into the container. The containers were stacked up to form the main focal point but also work as a storage solution for both marketing materials and the stand itself.

The result was an impressive high impact stand, with the Port of Tyne brand and message in clear focus.
