Creating outstanding futures​ (and brand identities!)

East Durham College is one of the top-performing colleges in the North East of England, operating across three campuses, as well as providing workforce development within individual workplaces across the region.

Interesting Challenge…

Following a successful pitch process, we were appointed to undertake a brand repositioning exercise as part of a much larger programme of growth and development that included the building of an exciting, new, purpose-built, £36 million campus on the outskirts of Peterlee, County Durham.

Clear Thinking…

​To usher in this exciting new era in the College’s history, we designed and launched a dynamic brand identity programme, creating a distinctive, interlinked typographic logo around the acronym EDC which not only stood for “East Durham College” but also represented their new brand promise… “Educating. Developing. Caring”.

Real Results…

Following the successful re-branding launch, the team at Guerilla worked closely with the College to ensure that the new brand was truly incorporated and brought to life in all forms of media. Since the initial branding exercise, East Durham College’s sixth form, ED6, has had a 100% pass rate over the last five years (2016-2020) and in that time was listed as the best in the country for boosting academic results in 2018.
